Must kill Galleon aka how to crush a world server under 30 minutes

Every Tuesday it’s killing world bosses extravaganza. I did not think that so many people would actually wait so patiently to kill Galleon. Are all these people wanting his mount? Or maybe these are just alts? I don’t see such anxiety to kill Sha anymore and Sha drops a mount too…

Anyway, as we sat and waited for Galleon to spawn somebody suggests to mount ton Tundra traveling mammoths or any Mammoths for that matter. Soon it became Mammoth’s showroom. We had about maybe 500 people on Mammoths and having so many people at one spot crashed the server! We did it! It was funny and then everyone frantically tried to log back on. After we logged back on, Galleon had spawned.

The lag was so terrible that I was just standing there and wasn’t able to even hit him once. After my computer was frantically calculating sounds and making humming sounds on background finally I was able to smack Galleon and received my 3rd neckless from him (keep getting same neckless). Guess it was worth the wait…

As we wait for Tuesday’s maintenance to end,  I am going to take all my alts to Oon’s place. For some reason, Blizzard made this world boss hard to kill and endless wipes just killing some pug. I tried to kill Oon on my monk last week and it was on Friday. What I’ve noticed is, the longer you wait to kill Oon, the more crappiest groups you are going to get, more times you’ll wipe and pay a hefty repair bill!

That’s why it’s best to park ALL your toons (all your alts) where Oon spawns and kill him on every character and hope you win his mount or a 522 ilvl gear. I haven’t won anything from Oon yet (that’s how it usually is) I start winning loot when the content isn’t current that’s just my “luck”.

The conclusion : On Tuesday, park all your characters, alts by Oon’s spawning island. The longer you wait, the more difficult it would be to find a sufficient group to kill him. Next stop would be Nalak and after that you can kill Galleon. Don’t wait till the end of the week to kill world bosses. Because fewer people will form groups to kill them and people with lesser gear/lesser skills as well.

Happy world boss hunting
